IIT Delhi

After IIT-Bombay successful DFM workshop, air of success blew toward north India.

IIT-Delhi called us for DFM workshop. It was short notice to manage everything for full DFM workshop during TRYST 2007. So, workshop organiser for TRYST 07 Ms. Taru Kapoor asked for short introductory version of DFM as a seminar for an hour, preceeded by another seminar on animation by UTV Toons. We agreed to conduct a very compaque version of DFM then.

I, Mehul flied from Ahmedabad to Delhi the day before the workshop to check all arrangements. Neha and Ekta joined next day in the early morning. We were quite impressed by the hospitality of IIT Delhi’s organizer team, they took good care of our requirements.

We got good companion for DFM, as a new joined member of FTFM, Rishikesh Ballaney. He was quite enthu guy, helped us in arranging things and for all demostration during DFM.
We started DFM on scheduleded time 11: 00 am in the morning. Had some technical troubles in our presentations but solved after minor tricks. DFM was preceeded by UTV Toons ‘ animation workshop. The hall was filled students. The animation workshop became lengthy and even extended a bit, and there we lost a lot of attendees for our worshop. Even though we were a bit disheartened but not discouraged.

When our turn came, Neha introduced FTFM and DFM Team. We played an introductory video of FTFM. Later, The technical presentations began. Neha explained all film making basics like serving fast food tidbits to hungry people. Ekta went for production practical basics with same fast food serving manner. And after that we did a short demonstration for making a short film at par, where I shot a small action sequence.
And bell rang to let us know that our time was up. A bit short on time, we had to end it there only. The short DFM was not enough for the thirst of mind it seemed as Many students after the workshop came to us with requests for details regarding the full version of DFM.

That was the conformation in it self that whoever had joined in, had loved the seminar. we would have loved more participation, but at the end, if just one single enthusiastic person attends DFM and goes out with a passion to make films on his own, we will call our workshop complete success.
